The back door to my house is a modern uPVC one that, when fully open, is at right-angles to the house. In windy conditions, it easily blows shut, or is forced back against the door stay. I want to fit a kickdown door holder so that the danger of damage caused by high winds blowing the door is countered. The advice in this forum seems to be to drill a small pilot hole and use self-tapping screws. However, I fear that the force of the wind could easily result in the screws being pulled out of the uPVC surround of the door. Is there anything similar to the plastic door plugs or even toggle inserts designed for internal hollow doors that I could use to provide a more robust fastening?
