Does anyone know what the fault code u1187 for a vauxhall corsa auto mean

clutch module fault
I am assuming that code came from vx of another code reader

This sometimes works to read codes
get in car and press the brake and accelerator fully to the floor.
turn the ignition key to position 2 ( not the starter)
the light on the dash will flash out a fault code
ie 10 flashes 5,10,5 would be 0505

Thanks for reply, not sure what vx means but a fault code does not come up, the only think that is showing is the letter F and a picture of the engine management light with spanner

vx means vauxhall, and you already posted the fault code, but then denied the code??? You said u1187? Where did you attain that code from? Hence why asking here for clarification? As you already know the fault?

I can't find that fault code in the list of Vauxhall fault codes, but from experience, althought the "F" light is flashing on the dash indicating a transmission fault, it can often be a faulty crankshaft sensor. This located just above the nearside drive shaft, and costs around £30.
