Hi - I was wondering if anybody could help point me in the right direction to fix the problem I have with my outside light?

It's a Micromark one that was fitted by our builder when the house was built 5 years ago. It's one with a PIR sensor, however it seems to have stopped working.

I've changed the lamps (both the halogen one and the energy saving one) and when I first switch the light on at the socket, both come on and flash 3 times (which is normal) however when it's done this, both stop being lit and don't come back on again even if there has been some motion?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the censor part, of the light has died...get a new one..but it being fitted by your builder sounds well dodgy..should have been done by a qualified spark.

Thanks for that Laughingjester - I'll look into it. Are these parts readily available to buy?

BTW - when I say it was the builder who fitted it, it was the electrician who worked for the builder when my house was built - rather than me getting it fitted afterwards - sorry for the confusion.

cheers,

Its a Micromark one, what?? a floodlight witha built in PIR sensor, maybe. Sorry but its not clear to me, maybe it is to you as you can see the "one".

IMO Micromark isn't exactly the premium brand and you're lucky it worked for 5 years.
5 weeks has been my experience.

Whatever the "one" is, go and buy another "one". You can't fix the old "one" with "parts".
