Hope someone can help me....
a friend of mine asked me to look at the state of wiring in a house that he is buying. after opening up various switches sockets etc, it was apparent that no earths are on the lighting circuit and the cables are the old pre 1960 lead ****e. as he is only 'doing the house up' and not wanting to live there does he need a re-wire. i have said yes in principle as he wants me to 'tidy' up the boxes etc but i said im not willing to under the circumstances. am i right or is the old wiring ok??
