I'd be a politician, but I suspect corruption would soon creep in, I've spoken to my local MP several times, to resolve issues, and local council, but they effectively don't listen to the people that vote for them, and choose companies that pay them large amounts of cash...

I've got land behind my house that was allotments, but the council charged too much rent, so they were left. Lots of wildlife enveloped, in a site of scientic interest, Bats, and other rare wildlife, until the council decided to sell the entire site, so a millionaire developer bought it, planned to build 44 houses on the site of a thumbnail, in a marshy area, but got refused planning permission, but cleared the site anyway, and it's now a treeless, wildlifeless, wasteland, full of tipped material, and old burnt areas. The area was raped.

Sorry, didn't see it like that, i get mad when area's get ruined like that as mickey said.

Iv'e took over a bit of council land at the side of my house,with their permission, 15 yrs ago, i get birds singing, i planted trees, got a redwood sec,(sp), 25 foot high at the mo, 2 doves brought chicks up for my grandchildren to see.

We have a pond, 2 wild ducks have 12 chats every yr, 3rd yr this, three chickens, neighbours(big word for me nowadays)sp,, get free eggs.
