Hi guys,

I would like to install a 42 watt security light, the closest cable is 16 amp radial circuit
Which current feeds a 11w light via a switched fcu

What I would like to do is connect another fcu to the existing fcu supply side to feed the new security light but reading the forum people have said you shouldn't.

Here is a diagram of my intentions

Thanks

thank you for your replys.all i know is that the 16amp breaker at consumer unit/fusebox isolates the cable in question

No, it doesn't isolate, since it doesn't open the neutral. It does de-energise though, by opening the line conductor.

i guess i got the diagram a little wrong it shouldnt return to consumer unit if its a radial circuit, and since the first fcu feeding the 11 watt light only has 3 wires to supply does this elimate it being ring final
