As title, any recommendations for a hose coupling that stays connected? Mine keep popping off when I turn the flow up.

try a new one, if yours is old it may well be worn.

Every time I try they seem to mostly pop off if they are hozelok. I need to get from a hose to a sprinkler, so need one with a female coupler. It is a "quick-release female coupler" I am after. Yes, I do want to get a new one, just not one that persists in slipping off the hose and or not coupling. I have some others that are older and do keep working, just dont know what make they are.

Are you sure the ones you have problems with are actually Hozelock?

I had mislaid both hose nozzles so I bought two reasonably priced (not the cheapest) ones online, from different suppliers. Neither one was that good, one would not even turn. When I forced it I heard a crack and some bits of plastic came out - one of the parts had not been finished properly. I looked at the online listings again and both had reviews saying they had been sent a clearly non-genuine item.

I then bought a more expensive nozzle that seemed genuine and it worked fine.

Occasionally places like Aldi have a set of brass fittings at low price, which I find quite good. Except for the gun-type hand sprays with a trigger and adjustable nozzle, which are rubbish.

I recently got a brass adaptor at Wilko at a very low price.

Even good brands of plastic fitting wear or crack in time. They are likely to be dropped on paving, stood on or driven over.

I try to keep a few brass spares handy.

The fitting that is giving me problems has a large "Hozelock" on the side. I have had more than one of theirs giving me problems. I will try Wilko

Are both fittings Hozelock brand? if not then that could be the problem.

I have had issues with hozelock just slipping off the pipe, and with staying put with other hozelock it, in this instance it isnt, but I have had too many problems with their stuff. I think they are doing a Black and Decker, eventually they will have to rename...

I'm fed up with everything to do with hoses. I bought two long hose reels and both leak from the internal connector. Hose fittings all seem cheap and nasty and whenever I need to join things together, even though I have a huge box of bits, I never have the thing I need!

I prefer screw attachments where possible.

If you find the pipe is slipping out of the fitting , slip the female threaded part down the hose ,dip the end in a cup of hot water then slip it into the fitting and tighten it all together and let it cool plunge into cold water before pressurising.
