Hi, Just a quick question..........
In your experience is it okay to connect the feed and expansion pipe work anywhere between the boiler and circulating pump on the primary feed or is there a minimum distance away from the pump thats recommended?
Cheers

As close as practically possible to the pump is best practice. But as long as you have less than 125mm between the feed and vent pipe. and pipe them up in the correct order (boiler flow-vent-feed-pump inlet). You should be fine

Thanks for the reply.........I've got to attach the feed and vent about a 12" away from the boiler so approximately 4-5 foot away from the pump, I assume this would have no long term negative effects on the system?

Also remember the open vent technically starts at the top of the boiler, so the pipe work should rise from the top of the boiler all the way to the tank, ie it should not elbow off the top of the boiler and go downwards and along to then come up to the tank.

Assuming your boiler has an overheat thermostat then just combine the cold feed into the open vent. You'll have much less future hassle.
