Felling a Slanty tree

Always a reasonable idea, I think, to have a rope around the trunk higher up, with someone pulling gently to guide the trunk away from yourself.

The problem with that, is that as the tree or branch comes down, the rope becomes rapidly longer due to the change in angle. Who ever is supposed to be pulling on the rope will find the cannot keep up with rope becoming longer, so pointless.

Looking at those photos, I would feel perfectly safe just cutting it at the base, to weaken them into falling. Clear plenty of space around the base so you don't fall in your attempts to get away, when it does begin to go and never work alone.
