I am trying to make the existing carpet last a bit longer and feel a bit nicer underfoot (carpet only 1yr old but crappy stuff glued down - it was put down to sell the house).
I bought gripper rods and underlay, and have refit one bedroom. It is ok but not perfect, some edges have not gripped that well... Then did some research and it seems that for felt backed carpet you need special gripper rods and for some felt back carpet it is so thin that grippers cannot be used.
Here is a pic of the carpet, it is obviously poor quality:
Is this in the category of don't bother with gripper rods - even the special ones?
If it is then are there any suggestions for how to fit this over underlay?
Thanks
