Felt lap vents tile up lift?

Hi have a poorly vented old bitumen felt roof, with condensation in the winter.

Have looked into installing some of these which seem to have good reviews.

I have read that there is a risk here if roof/tile uplift

Is this a real risk that people have had experience of?

you have made some good suggestions to check. Unfortunately my problem is that the roof is old with unvented soffits.

My query was to establish whether anyone had any experience of these felt roof vents causing problems like tile lifting?

Did you install these and have you had any issues with the tiles lifting or driving rain getting in?

I’ve installed a few recently but we’ve had no wind or hardly any rain so haven’t had chance to see if they cause any issues.

Hi there, yes installed these back in July.
They have worked well and after a few days the air did feel cleaner in the loft. No issues with condensation that I was getting before.

They have managed some major downpours and windy weather so would say they are a welcome addition.

Will report if any problems but seem all good

Thanks replying. That’s good they’ve worked for you. I’ll see how I get on with them. I don’t really understand how they could cause the tiles to lift up in the wind so I’m likely stressing over nothing.

You could also drill holes in the soffits on two sides to encourage airflow. See that insulation does not block the eaves
