I have just rescued about 40 pieces of timber which seem to have been used as shuttering and previously as fencing. I have washed, sanded and bleached them but would like to whiten them a bit before either waxing or oiling them to be used as wall covering in a shower room.

I am a bit worried there might still be some residue from say timber preservation from when used as fencing and this might affect the wax or oil. Also should I use Liberon Wood Bleacher or Rustins Wood Bleach. I need to lighten the wood without destroying the grain. I attach a pic of a similar project from old wood and some of the wood I want to work with now. Thanks for any advice.
