Fence Post distance

Right now I have to put the posts in!!! How far apart should they be?

My garden is 1.8m above the road and I want a 1.5m fence. It will take a bit of a hit when windy so need to know what a strong fence would need?

I have 2.4m post so 0.9 will be in the ground!

I was just going to use 20cm by 1cm rough sawn board cut to meet the posts and nailed onto the posts . either horizontal or with horizontal batten to hold vertical slats

the posts in the picture look in exess of 3m apart.

if youre using proper fencing arris rails they come in 3.60m or 3.00 m lengths
