Hi There,

Hope someone can give some help. My Ferolli Optima 701 boiler is broke. The fan is working, the pressure is fine but I simply cannot get the pilot light to fire, so have no heat and no hot water.

I pay a monthly fee to British Gas to cover all parts and repairs, so contacted them on Saturday 18th Dec and was told they could get to me January 7th (as I'm not an OAP and there's no kids in the house I am not a priority).

I really can't afford to pay an independent to come out so at the moment I've basically moved out of my house to stay with relatives.

Nothing seems to be frozen but I've put towels over the waste flue just to be on the safe side. I'm following the restart procedures to the letter but as I said nothing is happening when I try to start the pilot light - no clicks, no sounds, nothing.

And when the fan is running and I turn hot water on the fan stops (I assume this is to be expected with no pilot light?)

Any ideas? If anyone does give advice please explain any plumbing/electrical stuff as I'm not an expert obviously!

I've checked around on Google and there's lots of advice about LED indicator lights - I've safely removed the front cover but can't decipher what's going on at all!
