I live in a block of flats about 5 years old. We all have Ferroli 102 boilers and recently several have stopped working. Our problem goes back a few months, and it has been intermittent failure. We have had the air pressure switch, venturi and fan changed out but it still fails and then will not fire up. Scottish Gas say they cannot follow all the flue and have told us it must be a blockage and as such have shut down the boiler as potentially unsafe... so for the past month we've been risking death by hypothermia instead of carbon monoxide poisoning... and no hot water to wash etc. Other flats have had smoke tests done and their flues seem fine. The property developer, property manager and gas company have all said "nothing to do with us"... so we are rather stuck. Any advice? Is it time to risk a new boiler (and then finding the flue really is the problem); or is there something we might have missed?
