Hi, I've been doing fibreglass roofs for about 10 years now and been using fibreglass flashing instead of lead when l can for the best part of 5 years
. Normal I bandage or matt over the flashing joint to the tilt fillet trim and topcoat the whole lot together just because I think it looks neater all be the same colour and bonded together. Never been a problem with any building inspector until today who really didn't like the way I've done it, he wanted me to put a separate flashing over the flashing that I've done yes I know that technically it can't expand and contract separately but it's never been a problem and I bet the mortar from a lead fillet will drop out long before a fibreglass flashing will, has anyone else done it like this or had a issue? Thanks.
