I have just had an email from Plusnet, to say that the contract I renewed with them last year, is null and void, because they failed to provide me with a copy of the actual contract. Truth is, it was becoming rather expensive anyway for the speed they were providing, but I was rather preoccupied at renewal time anyway. I'm on fibre to the cabinet, then copper for the final leg - 40Mb, with phone, and email.

So I have a free get out of contract, and could now move to full fibre. I am therefore looking at fibre options. How do I tell whether the phone line is included and an email address. with fibre lines?

I never use the broadband provided address as you end up changing it every time you move. I just stick with my gmail addresses - business and private. Having said that, when I was changing my business account nearly 15 years ago, I set the emails on my @btconnect.com account to divert to my personal gmail account. I cannot access it or send from it but I still get emails to that business forwarded to my personal gmail account, even nowdays.

I did it all online, set up an account and get paperless bills. It’s self evident what you are ordering from the options online

I used three email addresses. A domain-based address from when I was self-employed, a Gmail one and another from gmx.

The domain-based one dates back to the 90s and was originally taken out with freenetname. Then it was taken over by Madasafish, then finally by Plusnet. I ended up with Plusnet and wanted to move to full fibre FTTP. But BT were messing them about and were taking ages to let Plusnet have full fibre.

So I moved to BT. But I still have full access to Plusnet Webmail and my domain-based email, even though I am now with BT.

I have full fibre with Toob (using City Fibre?) mesh wifi getting 730 mbs at top of the garden and 930 indoors upload and download. Includes all online stuff including email. I don't bother with a landline.

Give the selected provider customer service a call and ask them.
