Hi all,

I have engineered oak flooring. Hoping to fit it soon just have a question regarding underlay...

Will be laying flooring through out downstairs (Lounge, Hall, Kitchen/Dinner).

Sub flooring are floorboards, in the kitchen area (like an L shape kitchen) I have 2sq meters of concrete sub floor (end of the L!), which I intend to tile as this is also where sink\dishwasher\washing machine are located.

I have purchased B n Q's 6mm fibre underlay and will be glueing tongue and grove.

Think that is an ok set up? wasn't sure about the fibre board in the kitchen area, should it be ok as tiling my wet area?

Would a 5mm sheet foam underlay have been better?

thanks in advanced for any advice!
