Sorry if this has been asked before.....
Is there a chance that a fridge freezer could trigger a PIR? Would it emit enough infrared radiation? I had trouble with a PIR activating in the room where the fridge freezer was. I ended up disconnecting the PIR thinking it was faulty. I've now moved the fridge freezer to another room to decorate and that rooms PIR has been triggered about 5 times recently but only at night. I was wondering, if the room was cold enough when the fridge kicked in, could it trigger the PIR? Or maybe it's coincidence

Yes

Warm air rising from the back of the fridge when the motor is running will be seen as a moving heat source by the PIR.

In most sensors vertical movement is less likely to be detected than horizontal movement. Therefore masking the sensor so it cannot "see" where the warm air reaches the ceiling and then has to move horizontally may solve the problem.
