Fiesta 1.25 1997 Clutch Fault?

Hi,

I've got a 97 Fiesta 1.25 LX and its ran sweet for a whole year. but the last couple of days I've had a problems with clutch I think. There is no loss of bite, however when I start the car and go to put in first, or any gear for that matter, it wont go in.

I dropped the car at a garage yesterday and he had a look, however upon inspection it started to work again. The only way I could originally get it there was to keep turning the engine off, putting it in gear and starting the engine, jumping it off so to speak. but when I collected it back off him, it ran sweet again.

Then Last night just i was gonna go out, the same happened again.

Garage was unsure and could not give an accurate diagnosis without looking at the clutch, which would have been expensive and not worth it without replacing. Its a hydrolic one by the way.

any advice would be gratefully recieved?

Think they're hydraulic clutches on those, so i'd go for air in the system or a slave cylinder on it's way out
