This was my first idea at diminishing noise from bathroom users to the room below.
But from looking at the advice given, it appears that stuffing the gap under the boards with loft insulation fibre may make no difference at all.
My flatmate whose bedroom is below the bathroom complains about hearing people moving around above her, toilet flushing etc.
Will wadding the spaces, and making sure the boards are all hammered firmly down make any difference at all?
If not, maybe I should go straight ahead with soundproof mats laid above the floorboards cover with lino or tiles.
Would appreciate any thoughts.
Cheers,
Elaine.

all the things you have suggested will make a difference to the sound deadening. sound proofing, im afraid, you may never achieve.
an architect once told me that adding mass (weight) to a wall/floor is crucial in reducing noise.
