Hello,

I have had a couple of rooms plastered and there are a few hairline cracks as expected. Question is should these be filled before or after mist coating? If I do it before mist coating will this cause the moisture in the filler to be sucked to the plaster and cause filler shrinkage? Thanks

Ceiling?
Bungalow or house? If house cracks upstairs?
I skimmed 100s of houses and I always stopped the cracks coming back. There are ways.

I don't think filling cracks will fix. Cracks will come back with in a week

Wall. The kitchen has been knocked around and then re skimmed. It is in areas where existing wiring chases have been filled with bonding plaster before top skim applied

Plaster shrinking back as dried too quickly causing a crack.
Rake out.
Seal
Fill
Sand
Mistcoat wall

Hi many thanks for the advice. What would you use to seal the plaster?

I'd used gardz or beeline sealer but not worth you buying it.
Got any wood glue? Mix it 4 parts water to 1 PVA. That will do it

Cut down the crack lines with a Stanley knife to form a V, then you’ve got a decent surface area to bond new filler with
