Trying to fill various gaps in the attic with foam.

Gaps vary from a few mms up to 30/40 mms in width.

Never used foam previously but heard that if you use too much it could warp plasterboard etc.

In the past, to fill deep holes in walls etc, I've packed out with news paper, or bits of old wood then used filler, but holes weren't more than a few cms deep.

Not too sure how to fill these gaps in the attic when the depth can be several meters. Is it best to pack wood, paper etc, so foam will take or will foam be able to stick to the sides?

Any advice much appreciated.

Cut some slithers of plasterboard put some Addy on the face pop it up through gaps hold with screw or bit of string till Addy sets then fill gap "recess" with Addy then tape and and skim

See attached photos. First picture has the largest gaps. Second is typical. The gaps are in the attic between the breeze blocks of the gable walls and the ceiling.

it looks to me as though the wall plasterboard has been stuck onto the blocks. Its a rubbish way of doing things , but its done. I would not bother with foam, buy the smallest roll of glass fibre you can. Split it up into bandages and poke them into the vertical gap then use the balance on the horizontal surfaces.
