Hiya,

We have a hole next to our shower where it leaked and damaged the plaster.

The leak has been fixed and the wall is dry.

The damaged area is about 50mm x 50mm and 20mm deep. So think it is too deep for normal filler.

My plan was to square cut out the damaged area with a cold chissel.

And then use something like this sandable foam adhesive to stick an off-cut of plasterboard. Then use filler to fill any remaining gaps and sand down/paint.

Thought this might be a better approach than buying big bags of mortar and plaster? - But open to advice from those who know better!

Some decent filler with no depth limitation.

Yeah, TX110 is a good filler. I would however recommend that you face fill first and then top up the filler once the first lot has almost cured.
