Filling Loop Valve Leaking

No that valve will not fit , if you are only changing the valve that is leaking you will not need to drain the system but you will need to turn off the mains cold water supply at the main stop cock before replacing the valve, if you want to change the non return valve at the other end of the braided hose you will have to release the pressure in the system first but shouldnt need to completely drain

This is what you require

no it is 15mm compression fitting on one end only the other end is just a thread with no machined face for an olive the seal is made by an O ring on the braided hose and the thumb nut is just tightened up hand tight

Oi reckon you'll find the hose doesn't seal on the end but on the inside, with an O ring. Have replace a few... dozen. Iso valves vary a bit but most will seal, even 1/4 turn lever valves which are ugly but better.

If its leaking at an end, get a new seal or olive.

it's not leaking at the end. just where the handle was (where the arrow is pointing).

is there a reason they don't use a normal female nut on the hose?
