I have a trench in the gagrage:

180cm x 62cm by (102cm depth )

Is it concrete the best way to fill it with and what would be an rough idea of the cost if I hire someone to do it.

I am between fill it in or buy two yellow trench covers for £160 and bolt them on the floor.

it is a rental house so don’t want to see anyone killed by driving the car in and the car falling to the trench l!

Best run this past the landlord- if it is permanently open (no cover of any sort) then imho it's up to them to make it safe by covering it or filling it in

He is the landlord.

I'm more concerned what happened to the last tenant.

Oops- my misread. Might be why the pit is only a metre deep- mebbe a bit soft at the bottom? :) .

@Yanni I'd buy and fit the covers, if the pit is dry it's a valuable asset for anyone who tinkers with cars. Well not quite anyone at that depth but still.....

Sorry yes I am the landlord the last lady died I bought her property!

Any idea of a rough cost for filling with concrete including labour? If it is up to £300 I might as well fill it in. What do you think?

Is the pit in good condition? Seems a shame to fill it in. Angle iron framework and 6x2s or whatever make a good cover, so if it ever was used you can open a section of it at a time.
