I have seen you can buy a paint which fills fine cracks in walls.

I am redecorating a bedroom and have stripped all the walls, filled and cleaned them down. I have applied a water coat (emulsion and water) as my first paint layer.

The ceiling is the worst for cracks and so i have refilled again.

If i paint with my emulsions i imagine most cracks will go, but i was wondering if it was worth me using these special paints as a base coat before i properly decorate.

If it is recommended, what product would you recommend. The one i have seen is polycell smooth over.

For the best finish, have the walls/ceilings skimmed before painting.

Over the years have only use gypo eas-fill in well raked out cracks, then undiluted emulsion the filled areas first. Then when dry do all the wall/ceiling.

Paint to fill cracks, good luck there.

Not skimming as they don't need it. I can do it myself, but even so not needed.

I prob won't go for these special paints and just see how i get on with my first coat. I may need to fill again, but i think it might be ok.
