Hi all - hoping for some advice please.

- Mid Terrace House
- Neighbours house had Finlock Concrete replaced with UPVC, ever since there has been issues with water running down the join
- The contractor has been back to repair the join, and the photos i've attached are what they have done to repair.

To me, i don't think it's a proper solution, and don't think it looks right. I'd love to get some views from others too please?

Thank you!

OP,
If possible, all the Finlock gutters in any given terrace are all removed together. Esp. when they are well past life usage, & showing sketchy previous repairs - as yours are.
What the pics show is the results of an inexperienced crew attempting something they should have left alone,
esp. as there's a bonding gutter & an outlet (is it the only one?) involved.

Its a poor job, & might possibly give you future problems?
While the scaff's up why not get together with any other Finlock neighbour's & see about getting the lot replaced.

So mine is the end, as the house in the other direction is further forwards, so it stops at the wall. The join end, this is the repair the contractor has done to fix water running down the wall. The only issue is this joined part, and was not causing any issues prior to the HA house next door having their gutters replaced (about a year ago now)

What I guess I’m trying to establish is if this is a suitable join, or if it should even be possible to join two properties with different gutters like this.

Thanks

I doubt there is a correct solution. Finlock gutters should be outlawed and the person that invented them imprisoned.

A more satisfactory solution with lead and torched flat roofing products, may yield better results. However, the two distinctly different gutters, at differing heights etc, are going to be incrediblt difficult to marry.

It looks like a bodge but bodges can work short/medium term. Maybe the long term solution is to fit upvc gutters to the rest of the terrace
