I had a two storey extension built last year which comprises of a garage and a bedroom with en-suite above.
The en-suite is all but finished apart from final connections for hot and cold water and waste pipe for shower and sink, currently the waste pipe leaves through the floor and sticks out of the ceiling in the garage. The intention is to run it through the garage to the stack.
Obviously the garage ceiling is acting as a fire barrier due to being a separate fire compartment (comprises of plasterboard and a coat of plaster) but will now be breeched with the PVC waste pipe in two places.
Would this pipework need to be boxed in and either boarded and skimmed or boarded with fire resistant plasterboard?
Completion certificate won't be applied for until the en-suite is up and running.
