I have just boarded the garage ceiling with fire proof (pink)plasterboard.

I have some questions.

1) The screws are not sinking in. Is their anything I am doing wrong? I've hanged torque setting on drill. Should it matter if theirs 1-2mm sticking out and it needs skimming?

2) can I use standard skrim tape?

Adjust torque setting on drill or get a proper drill to do the job correctly !

I have the highest torque and used drywall screws.

It just isn't going in. It's like the firmness of the board is not allowing the head to sink. Any suggestions? Maybe better screws?

Are you screwing directly into the wood above or are you over boarding into existing plasterboard?

What length of screws are you using?

Does the screw stop turning or does it continue to turn but not tighten?

I can't believe it. You will snap the head off a plasterboard screw before it stops turning

Mine were the same, I didn't think it would matter but the plaster told me to man up and put more pressure on. They went in then, originally I thought I would damage the board.
