I have done a search but I can't find any info on my problem, any advice would be welcome.
I need to replace 2 x wooden lintels that are above my open fires ( not fitted by me), they have smoldered at the back & need to be replaced.
The openings are about 2ft & 3 ft wide
Are concrete ones ok to use & do they need to be a special heat tollerant type?
Do I need to use a special type / mix of mortar?
Do I need to use a special type of plaster?
Thanks
Sean
