hello,

i am going to have a woodburner installed and have a fireplace recess back to brick

can i use render beads on the external angles to work from? not sure due to heat

and i am going to use 6-1-1 sand/lime/opc and the 7-1-1

do i ha\/e to use the mesh under this or will it be ok, its normal bricks

and the outside will be skimmed as its a normal breast, is it ok to use a thin coat stop bead around the opening and use multifinish as normal

Thanks alot

Yes you can use render beads. Before you put the scrach coat on brush on a coat of watered down pva to help stop suction. The mix i use is 4-1-1 scrach coat 5-1-1 finish coat with washed plastering sand. There is no need to use mesh if the brick work is ok and no big voids in it. You can use thin coat stop beads and multi finish on the face side i.e. the breast. Hope this helps you. :) S/S
