BCO is coming to inspect 1st fix wiring next Friday. Do I have to cut a strip back the conductors ready for connecting to the accessories? Or just leave the T+E ends unprepared? The reason I ask is that I might not have time to prepare the ends. I plan to use plastic capping (will dot and dab plasterboard over), grommets for steel backboxes, green+ yellow earth wires for backboxes, stick to safe zones, anything I've forgot then please mention. Steve.

I don't think you'll need to have the ends prepared for him as 1st fix is just the chasing/ running of cables/fitting the backboxes(with grommets) and then waiting for the plastering to be done.

2nd fix will see the cables prepared and sockets/switches installed but it's best if you ask the guy who will be inspecting it.

Took your advice and gave BCO a call. You were right, he said the cable ends didn't have to be prepared for 1st fix inspection.
