Hi,
Could anyone advise on a couple of issues regarding DPC / DPM ?
My property requires a number of bricks replacing on a downstairs internal wall. This wall has two damp courses fitted. Firstly , the original bitumen DPC which is fitted below the original concrete floor ( about 4 inch and doesn't look too healthy ) and second, a chemical type ( holes drilled in brick ) that is just above the floor. This is the brick that needs replacing, would I be better just replacing the brick and doing the same chemical type or should I use a DPC roll ( two bricks at a time ) ? I won't be able to join this up with anything when I get to the end of the wall ( party wall ) , only the chemical DPC that goes around the whole house ??
If I replace the concrete floor in the future, will I have to lap the DPM in with the DPC to comply with building regs, or can you get around it, it would be a lot of work around whole house
