Hi all, I can't decide what the best approach here is . . . my kitchen is an empty room, and I plan on fitting base units from screwfix or similar, then making my own doors/ worktop etc. What i can't decide is whether to tackle the floor (currently concrete) before or after my kitchen fitting. My intention for the floor is either stone tiles, or ply with rubber tiles on top . . obviously I'd need less flooring material if I did it later . . .but . . .any suggestions?

thanks!!

Noseall is so right - think ahead - suppose you later decide/have to replace one of your appliances and it is just an inch narrower than the original ? Also when you come to sell on, the purchaser might want to have an entirely different layout and will probably ask if the tiles go right to the wall..... And if, God forbid, you drop a bottle of milk on the floor you will be able to clean it up (you will have to remove the kickboards whatever you have decided) but it will be a darn sight easier to clean tiles than a rough sub-floor. Can you imagine sour milk stuck in the depressions for ever ??? Yuk, yuk !! So tile to the wall, economise on something else if money scarce.
