just wondered how plumbers cut a hole in an external wall to fit a flue?!! Just out of curiosity do they use a core drill or what??!!

core drill bit and decent drill is the way, normally between 117 / 120 mm. Flue, if condensing boiler, will require slight fall back towards boiler.

i somehow thought a pilot hole was made a a large masonry type jig saw was used to make the square/circle hole in the wall!!! thanks for teducating me!!!

Most plumbers will carry a core drill and drill bits, or else they will hire one. You are right in mentioning about a pilot hole though...........
