fitting an oven

hi,

i am trying to replace a single oven which has been wired in with an oven that comes with a 13amp pulg - can i just cut the plug off and wire in or should i add a socket from the junction and plug in?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

is your new oven gas?
if its the same power you should be ok
the maximum wattage a plug can supply is 2990watts i take it the oven is under this?
