Hi all,

When fitting basin taps in the bathroom, is there any
recommended putty or sealer which can be put round
the threads to stop the (whole) taps from turning after
they've been fitted ?

The taps I've bought only have plastic nuts so I don't
want to over tighten them in case I strip the threads.

What's the best way of making a solid job so the taps
won't move ?

Thanks in advance.

Plastic nuts are usually ok, esp if you have thick rubber washers with the taps. There are special widgets which help, but if you clean everything with meths then put sanitary silicone under the taps, in the hole in the basin (but not in the nut threads!) it'll hold once set.

Don't bother with Plumbers Mate - waste of space.
