Hi. I'm new to this plumbing lark - but having done plenty of other things on my flat successfully, I am giving it a go.

I have swapped the position of my basin and bath as part of the bathroom refurb.

I have a new bath to fit. The tap is a monobloc bath shower mixer (0.1 ->2 bar from ideal standard) the tails of the hot and cold feed for the tap are 15mm according to the spec.

I am connecting to two existing 15mm hot and cold pipes (which originally went to the basin )

What hardware do I need to connect the tap tails to the 15mm copper pipe?

People seem to suggest using a braided flexible connector with compression fittings is best?

I have looked at screwfix and i can only find the following items. Are they suitable?
**************************
1.

Flexible Tap Connectors 15mm X 1/2 . 300mm. Stainless Steel braid. 15 bar working pressure.

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp;jsessionid=BCH4WWTN01NYDCJO2C4CJ0Q?id=13143&ts=15650

THIS HAS THE RIGHT DIAMETER - BUT IS IT SAYING ITS A HALF INCH CONNECTOR AT ONE END?

**********************************************
2.

Flex Tap Conn C/W Valve 15*1/2 . 300mm long. Complete with isolating valve. Stainless Steel braid. 15 bar working pressure.

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp;jsessionid=BCH4WWTN01NYDCJO2C4CJ0Q?id=18417&ts=15650

THIS HAS THE RIGHT DIAMETER - BUT IS IT SAYING ITS A HALF INCH CONNECTOR AT ONE END?

IS THE ISOLATOR WORTHWHILE FOR maintenance?

WILL THE ISOLATOR REDUCE THE FLOW?

************************************************

3.

Flex Tap Conn 15mmx3/4"x300mm. 300mm. Stainless Steel braid. 15bar working pressure.

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp;jsessionid=BCH4WWTN01NYDCJO2C4CJ0Q?id=77154&ts=15650

THIS HAS THE RIGHT DIAMETER - BUT IS IT SAYING ITS A 3/4 INCH CONNECTOR AT ONE END?

*******************************************************

IS THERE NO SUCH THING AS A 15MM TO 15MM FLEXIBLE HOSE?
IF NOT - DO i NEED TO FIT AN ADAPTOR AT ONE END TO TAKE 15MM TO 1/2 INCH OR 15MM TO 3/4 INCH?

Any advice is very welcome.

Thanks

Pete

No it is not you need 15mm one end and 3/4 the other for the taps

NO as they are a ballbearing with a hole drilled through so no loss

thanks for the info corgiman.

I am baffled. if the tap tails are 15mm according to the ideal standard spec, why do I need a 3/4" connector at one end of the braided flexible.

are all taps based on a 3/4" fitting ?

Nope just bath taps mate

the tails on them are 3/4 basin taps 1/2 etc

the bath tap - is a MONOBLOC shower mixer as described above, two 15mm pipes going into a single housing.

would this fitting still be 3/4"

thanks again
