fitting cooker to existing cable

Hi I have just fitted a lofra electric cooker pxv66amfr to the existing socket cable from my old tricity cooker. Everything works and although the oven thermostat light go out when they reach temperature everything I cook needs a higher temp and longer than what it should take. The ovens don't seem to get as hot as they should. Could the fact that I have connected the new cooker to the old cable have anything to do with reducing the oven temperatures or could it be my imagination. Thanks for any advice

The thermostats in your old and new cookers might not be set the same.

Buy an oven thermostat at your hardware or cooking equipment shop and see if the new oven temperatures are running accurately. If not, and you bought it new, complain and ask for the thermostat to be adjusted or replaced.

p.s. I see it is a Gas oven so presumably not fanned? was your old one? Fan ovens cook faster than non-fanned and can be run at slightly power temperatures.

I am alarmed that you say "socket cable" as this cooker has a ceramic hob so must not be connected through a plug and socket - it takes too much power.

it is the all electric version and my old cooker had a fan oven. I will take your advice about the oven thermostat. and sorry about - my terminology it is wired into the proper cooker socket thanks again much appreciated
