Hi all

I've got some rather dated spotlights I need to put back into their holes, but the 'arms' that hold the spotlight flush against the wall are a different style from what I'm used to, and I can't get them into the holes.

I'm used to sprung arms that you hold flush against the light as you manoeuvre it into the hole, before they 'snap' into place on the other side of the plasterboard (red circle).

But these older lights (blue circle) have a non-sprung arm - i.e. they just move back and forth freely - and when I hold the longer bit of the arm up against the light, the little shorter bit is lifted, so I can't get it into the holes (green circles)

Any help much much appreciated!!

The green ones are right but the hole looks a bit small - maybe it is not round and is larger if you rotate the light.
You simply push the light in until it forces down the small part of the clip and along with it the large part.

The blue one looks the same.

It will damage the plasterboard.

Thanks so much all - it worked :)
