Hi everyone,
I removed the timber and the wood around my front door as they were badly rotten.
I'm aiming to fit a sapele hardwood (photo attached)
I'm not confident how I can fix it so it doesn't get loose over time since people will step on it. The previous timber were snug fit into concrete. I guess it was placed there before the frame was made around it.
1) shall I smooth the surface with concrete first? and use no more glue to fix the timber to it? or it'll get lose over time.
2) what would be best solution to fill the sorrounding? cement, filler? I still want to run a piece of wood since I cut the rotten bit.
I'm also happy to put tiles or bricks if you think the wood is not ideal and won't stay put.
Thank you for your support
