Hi

The set up I had for my hot water before was gravity pumped to 3 bar and cold water on mains. That was for all taps in the house. I also had pressure reduce valve (PRV) fitted for the cold water supply in the bathroom.

I had unvented cylinder installed few months ago. I have the cold water mains pressure at 5 bar but the hot water from cylinder at 3 bar. I am finding the pressure of cold water too high, thermostatic shower mixer taking a while to adjust to hot temperatures. My installer removed the PRV saying I can't have with this new system.
The photo below shows my current installation. can I have PRV where the arrow is, set to 3-3.5 bar? This is where I had it before, it is the cold water supply to bathroom WC, basin, shower and washing machine on ground floor.

TIA

If you mains is that high then either the mains should have it's own PRV to match the unvented input pressure or, as suggested, the cold mains for all mixer taps/shower/supplies should be fed from the balanced mains side of the unvented combi valve.

(edit) apologies .... I previously marked the EV take off and not the balanced feed outlet

No idea why the installer didn't take cold supply from there, the orange arrow.
I can put a PRV where the black arrow, set to 3 bar, can't I?
Cheers

You can, cold water is flowing downwards where the proposed PRV will be? But taking the balanced cold off the UVC PRV is better balanced and cheaper since you allready have the PRV, all it requires are a few pipe mods.

Connect your bathroom feed etc. to that capped 22mm pipe on the pressure reducing valve.
Has the installer filled in the benchmark logbook and notified the install? You should get a building regs. compliance certificate.
Pipework should be lagged...where's the expansion vessel?

It is the pipe water flowing downward supply bathroom WC, basin, shower mixer and washing machine on ground floor, I have already 15mm Honeywell PRV with gauge which makes life easier I think. I will speak to installer on Monday and see what he says.

Yes logbook and building reg all done.
