Hi, trying to fit a double socket in loft. For plug-in loft light and tv booster/amp. Found the cable for bathroom fan ( which no one uses), could i link up to that? Things is, it`s Red,Blue and Yellow. Whats what? A socket should be Live,Neutral, Earth yes? Originally chose smoke alarm main feed, but that had 4 wires! [/b]

Dont play with the fan wiring! thats an arrangement of permanent and switched lives + neutral and earth, leave well alone.
As already said feed loft light from upstairs bedroom light ceiling rose, you'll find lots of red and black cores there
