Hi,

I'll be fitting a straight stair runner soon and have also had a custom runner made for the straight, mid landing.
The piece of carpet is around 1.8m x 0.6m and wondered what the best way of fixing this to the staircase/landing is?
As it's a runner, and therefore doesn't meet the edges I guess that carpet grippers aren't best solution.
Should I cut the underlay a couple of inches inside the carpet then glue/tack the carpet down on top of this?

Also, regarding the runner on the stairs, is it best to start at the bottom and work up?

Many thanks

Stairs start at the bottom and make your way up.

Not all underlays are suitable for pure sticking down, best to pin the carpet on the landing section as well.
