I am installing a new close coupled toilet in the bathroom. Have put ceramic tiles on the floor. Do I place the toilet directly unto the tiles or should I bed it in with something like Plumbers Mate. What's the best stuff to use. Likewise do I do the same with the wash hand basin pedestal.

Onto the tiles is fine, but if they aren't totally flat and the pan rocks slightly you'll need to pack it up so it doesn't rock.
