Fitting velux coupled side by side

I am fitting 2 velux today sat side by side. The gap between the two is 100mm.

The brackets actually touch almost (at top and bottom) and the gap is now 108mm. The metal brackets are actually adding an extra 4mm to each window, which adds up to an extra 8mm between the two?

Does this difference matter and do i need to get it spot on at 100mm. If so i will need to chisel out where the brackets contact with the dividing rafter.

Why not do a 'dry run' with the flashing kit and windows first and see how it pans out. Just lay 'em on the ground and see.

We fitted a bank of four Velux once with a rafter (50mm) separating each window.

In this instance i had to get Velux to manufacture a special bespoke flashing, whereby i sent them a drawing.

The flashing kit took 8 weeks!

sorted and done. The gap was 104mm and there was plenty of give in the central channel flashing.
