Hi

Can you see daylight through the gap?

Is the house or wall of timber framed construction?

Is the outer leaf of the property brick and the inner leaf timber stud?

A photo would also be good if you can publish one.

Once I no the above will do a drawing which may help to explain than just words.

Hears wishing you and your love one’s a very magical Christmas and a fantastic new year.

Yes 150mm timber frame with 50mm cavity and 100mm concrete block, i have sealed all gap's around internal frame to stud's with frame sealant, it seams that they took the window up to the lintel and there for increased the height of the bottom frame and pvc rebate in frame, it' just that i wanted to have the window board tight under the rebate to eliminate a further gap, and hopfully lose it under the board but how to raise it, i thought of putting some sort of dobs of some thing and use wedges sliped under to help stabalise the board,

hope this helps,

Sorry how rude of me have a great xmas and happy new year and thank you

Stick a piece of plasterboard onto the cill first then stick the window board onto that. You will need to fill the exposed edge & blend in with the surrounding wall.

After checking a few more some of either the windows are not square in the frame or the bottom cill are not level so the gaps are not all equal.

Will await your advice

Hi

Drawing as promised I hope you find it of some help.

Option one

Apply either paint ( primer ), varnish or danish oil to the underside of the window board as well as any raw edges of the window board.
Fix bright zinc coated light duty angle brackets to the under side of the window board. Recommended every 400mm
Attach some form of damp proof membrane to the window ceil. Bring it across the civility and on to the studwork sealing it down with a suitable panel adhesive.
Position the window board in the grove in the window ceil. Level and fix in position using the light duty angle brackets you have attached to the underside of the window board.
Fill cavity with spray foam being careful not to get it under the damp proof membrane that’s why you should seal it in position.
The reason for using the angle brackets no fixing will show on the good face of the window board and hence will look like a job in the town.

Option Two

This option is for any reason the window ceil and window board don’t have a tongue and grove

As above but you will need to fix a small batten to the inside edge of the timber studding to support the window board
Finish off with 18 x 18mm quadrate moulding to cover the gap and will hold down the window board pushing it hard against the timber batten.

All of the above is supposing you are using timber window boards.

Thanks Bespoke these have been very helpful indeed the set up is a little diffrent though with the window being in the cavity inself and after thinking about it the rebate i was talking about is the window sitting over the sub cill by 15mm, Due to the descrepancy in the window and the studding the the gap is not consistant, so need some thing that will go with the flow if you know what i mean,

Thanks for your drawings yu certainly know your stuff

Cheers
