Can anyone help with some advice on this external pipework? The toilet waste (plastic) is going onto the main waste (asbestos concrete) and there is a small leak (for now) so that it drips every few seconds. The leak is coming from the white bit in the photo so at least I know the pipe is not cracked. I’m sure replacing the plastic pipe or both is the ideal solution but I’ve done a lot of work on this part of the house recently and I just want a quick and easy, if not permanent, fix.

Can I patch it up with something, and if so what’s a good product to use? Also how can I get rid of the water in the pipe so that the surface is dry for when I apply the sealant? (Not sure if that’s necessary depending on the product but I figured I’d have to do something like shut off the water supply and flush the toilet until gone.)

Scrape out an clean between the plastic and the cast as best you can.
Then fill the gap with black CT1.

it may be best to pack out the gap first with rolled up paper. So as the CT1 doesn't fall down the stack.

Do while the weather is good and no one needs a poo.

Or a wee.

Thanks. So as long as the toilet isn’t being flushed it will not keep leaking water? In that case I could do it when everyone’s gone to bed

Only you know that. You could just get the family out for the day

Only thing I would say is that I've found that even thoughCt1/OB1claims it can be used in wet conditions, it can struggle to get adhesion sometimes.

Using a wet grab silicone adhesive, specifically designed for use wet applications would be recommended. Clean that material back until you get to a firm/clean section and wear a mask just in case.
