I fitted a Drencher head and would not do it again. You need a shower cube big enough to step out of the flow, and a horizontal or diagonal spray is better for everything except the top of your head. They also need a very good flow and pressure (which I have) which might be uneconomical.
As suggested, depends on the size of the shower and of it's the one and only shower or another - if it's the latter then if it's a large rain shower then that can be enough - we have a large shower (1800x800) with a 350mm overhead rain head and a hand held - hand held very very rarely gets used. Probably more so to clean the shower space down rather than actually use it to wash.
This is an en-suite though and there is another conventional spray head shower in the main bathroom that SHMBO uses sometimes when she doesn't want to wash her hair too (which is one of those female mystery's that I have never ever understood)
